Non-stop round module harvesting
The CS690 Cotton Stripper features our exclusive non-stop harvesting solution, which increases productivity and uptime in each pass. A single man, single machine operation allows you to harvest and go using an on-board module builder that releases your completed round module onto the rear handler. Best of all, you can continue harvesting crop while you wait to drop off the module at an end row or designated staging area without ever stopping. More importantly, you reduce your fleet – no more basket machines, buggies, tractors, or module builders – you reduce your labour, and you reduce your fuel costs. It’s all-around savings from start to finish.
TAMA RMW™ (round module wrap)
Give your cotton the protection it deserves. The round module wrap, developed by TAMA Farm Grown Solutions, provides the perfect security for cotton in rain, wind, or during transport. In wet conditions, the wrap allows your round modules to shed the water and keeps them removed from soaked ground, so that you can preserve the rich fibres. And in windy conditions, the wrap seals the cotton prevents it from blowing out from under the tarp – common for square modules. Not to mention the wrap keeps the cotton locked in when moving modules in the field or in the gin yard.
6-row or 8-row header options
Choose from two available stripper head options: the 606SH 6-row header (offered in 36-, 38-, or 40-inch row spacings) and the 608SH 8-row header (offered in 30-, 36-, or 40-inch row spacings) – each with variable speed hydraulic drive. These low profile Batt-Brush row units provide more than 97% stripping efficiency and excellent harvest visibility from your cab. A 12-inch diameter cross auger ensures smooth crop flow in higher-yielding cotton. Plus, a new CANBUS electrical system features touch set height control to optimize your header settings in rough terrain. And Manual RowSense™ guidance gives you hands-off steering to ease operator stress and fatigue.
Power and performance
It starts with the 13.5L 373 kW (500 hp) Final Tier 4 engine, which includes an added 22.4 k (30 hp) boost to help you harvest higher yields in tougher conditions. The ProDrive™ transmission comes complete with dial-a-speed field cruise in first and second positions from 0-9 miles-per-hour. This gives you steady harvest speed without shifting gears. The full-time 4WD with Anti-Slip Regulation improves traction and control so you can enjoy smoother ride quality on the steep turn rows and in the field.
Increased levels of capacity
A faster variable speed cleaner on the CS690 versus the 7460 offers 8% speed increase with up to 1,000-plus pounds-a-minute of rated throughput to give you harvesting capacity above and beyond current limits. There’s also 10% greater capacity in the CS690 over the 7460 from the improved air system, which offers even more capacity in higher-yielding cotton. The simpler, more robust fan drive system is designed with fewer parts to reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
Preserving yield is the bottom line for your business. That’s why going from many machines and even more manpower to a one-man operation is the only true profit-driven decision worth considering. With the CS690, you can harvest during the optimal window more quickly and efficiently, allowing you to maintain the highest possible lint quality. A single-man operation also means less cotton loss in the field, as normally experienced with transfers from the basket machine to the boll buggy and onto the builder. And consider how well you can preserve the richness of your soil profile with the CS690: there’s much less compaction from one machine in the field versus several.
When you’re harvesting ‘non-stop,’ that’s greater uptime in and of itself. But we’ve raised uptime in other ways, as well. With less machinery, you reduce the amount of necessary service time. Further, we’ve increased service interval for hydraulic and transmission systems from 400 hours to 1,000 hours, cutting maintenance time and costs, while making serviceability a non-issue. Also, a self-cleaning rotary screen has been added to keep trash, lint, and debris out of the radiator, thereby helping your engine run cooler – no more stopping to clean the radiator. And finally, the new remote battery terminal location makes it quicker and more accessible to get to your battery power without removing panels.
Updated harvester cab
Step into one of the cosiest, most convenient, and intelligent cabs in the industry. Improved ergonomics keep the operator in optimum comfort for stress-free workdays.
