John Deere launches new 9 Series Tractors

9 Series Tractor

CRESTMEAD, QUEENSLAND (3 March, 2021) — John Deere has launched new 9 Series Tractors to bring more power, more technology and a larger, more comfortable cab to Australian farmers as part of its largest new product release in a decade.

The model year 2022 9 Series lineup includes wheel 9R, two-track 9RT and four-track 9RX Tractors, each of which is designed to help farmers cover more ground in less time. John Deere is the only manufacturer to offer all three configurations.

Six models are available across the 9R Tractors to better meet the needs of unique farming operations, ranging from 390 to 640 horsepower. Low-end torque and lugging ability comes from the all-new John Deere PowerTech™ 13.6 L diesel engine which drives models with 390 to 590 horsepower. The larger 9R 640 and 9RX 640 are powered by a Cummins 15 L engine.

To accommodate the added horsepower and ballast of the articulated 9 Series Tractors, several undercarriage, axle, and front-frame components have been strengthened and improved. This has increased the weight of the tractor and the maximum available ballast from 27,200 to 30,300 kg, to put the enhanced power of the new lineup to the ground.

Three two-track 9RT models range from 470 to 570 horsepower and feature AirCushion™ walking beam suspension to improve ride quality. Two-track tractors provide a large footprint with less ground pressure and lower slip values compared to wheel tractors, making them ideal for straight-line pulling, and broadacre tillage.

The John Deere 9RX offers industry's most powerful four-track machine ranging from 490 to 640 horsepower. Multiple track widths and tread spacings are also available, enabling tractors to be used in row-crop and broadacre applications where more traction and flotation is required.

Selected 9 Series Tractors can be ordered with hydraulic Intelligent Power Management (IPM) to deliver up to 50 extra horsepower depending on the selected gear. A performance boost is offered when the tractor is pulling equipment through tough terrain or over large hills in response to intelligent software monitoring of hydraulic demand and engine power.

New 9 Series tractors are smart and come equipped from the factory with JDLink™ connectivity, plus an integrated StarFire™ GPS receiver, Generation 4 CommandCenter™ display, AutoTrac™ guidance and free access to the John Deere Operations Center, to help farmers harness the value of precision agriculture and data to transform their operations.

The new larger cab has been restyled to offer automotive-like operator comfort and is available with a choice of Select, Premium or Ultimate cab packages. The Ultimate comfort and convenience package comes with a heated, ventilated massaging seat that swivels up to 25 degrees to the left and 40 degrees to the right, giving the benefit of improved operator visibility for long days in the cab.

The 9 Series Tractors will be available to order from mid-March 2021. For more information visit the John Deere website or contact your local John Deere Dealer.
