John Deere supports customers’ ability to maintain, diagnose, repair, and protect their equipment, and has expanded access to tools like John Deere Operations Center™ PRO Service, Service Overview and Equipment Mobile, which provide operators manuals, machine specific information, and maintenance trackers. While certain repairs involving proprietary software or safety-critical systems remain restricted, Deere is committed to balancing repair access with safety, compliance, and product integrity. The company continues to invest in self-repair solutions and engage with customers and industry groups to evolve its policies.

Can I get official John Deere diagnostic tools (e.g., Operations Center™ PRO Service) as an independent owner/repair shop?

Yes, John Deere made Operations Center™ PRO Service Advisor available for purchase directly by customers and independent repair shops through an authorised John Deere dealer. This gives independent providers the ability to perform diagnostics, repair, reprogram John Deere equipment*, with owner permission, and the purchase of proper licensing.

*Certain engine-related tests and calibrations are not currently available.  Reprogramming functionality may not be available for some controllers; see JohnDeere.com.au/PROService for further details.

Where can I find official John Deere repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical service bulletins (TSBs)?

You can find technical resources through these official channels:

  • John Deere Bookstore for viewing operators' manuals for free and purchasing technical manuals;
  • Quick Reference Guides and instructional videos for maintenance tips;
  • Partscatalog.deere.com for finding and purchasing parts from your dealer;
  • John Deere Operations Center™ Pro Service for managing farm data, maintenance, and machine information;
  • Operations Center™ Pro Service for digital manuals, and for clearing and refreshing codes, taking diagnostic readings, and performing limited calibrations; and
  • Equipment Mobile this free app is a one-stop-shop for machine information including operators and parts manuals, maintenance plans, quick reference information, trouble code lookup, and software updates on select 4G connected machines.

While third-party diagnostic tools do exist for John Deere equipment, they are not officially supported or recommended due to risks around compatibility, safety, and software integrity. Deere encourages customers and independent shops to use authorised platforms like John Deere Operations™ PRO Service, which provide secure access to diagnostics and manuals without compromising emissions systems or controller calibrations. Use of unauthorised or "cracked" tools may violate license agreements and can lead to equipment damage or warranty issues.

What is the "John Deere Operations Center™ PRO Service" portal, and what access does it provide?

This tool is designed to empower customers while maintaining safety, reliability, and compliance standards. With the purchase of an Operations Center™ PRO Service annual licence, you will unlock:

  • Diagnostic, repair and reprogramming* capabilities for your machines.
  • PIN-specific machine information, such as Warranty details, Product Improvement Programs (PIPs), components and option codes, machine health insights, maintenance plans, and software updates.
  • Access to remote Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) retrieval, refresh and reprogramming capabilities*

*Reprogramming functionality may not be available for some machines
