An all-new lineup of Hagie™ Self-Propelled Sprayers, designed to help manage challenging field conditions, also comes to market and will include three models.

New John Deere 9 Series Tractors will bring greater power and technology, and superior comfort, to help farmers cover more hectares in less time, and with greater accuracy. The John Deere 8 Series has also received an upgrade and offers a new selection of specialised options to save time and reduce costs during critical periods of the growing season.

Key updates have also been made to air seeding tools including the addition of the John Deere RelativeFlow™ Blockage detection system, TruSet™ In-Cab Downforce adjustment and Quick-Change Blades.

The 9 Series Tractors can be ordered from late March, while the 8 Series Tractors, Sprayer offering and seeding tools available to order by mid-2021.

John Deere Australia / New Zealand Managing Director, Luke Chandler, said this significant release reflected John Deere's commitment to leading the development of industry-best equipment that delivers on-farm results through innovation.

"We partner with industry to meet the unique needs of our customers and are delighted to come to market with this suite of new products we know will make a real difference for Australian farmers," Mr Chandler said.

"Our focus has always been, and will continue to be, to lead the development of technology that supports farmers in achieving more with less."

John Deere 400 and 600 Series Sprayers

Three new 400 (408R, 410R and 412R) and two new 600 (612R and 616R) Series Sprayers have been introduced to deliver enhanced operator comfort, high-quality application and the most machine uptime possible with tank sizes ranging from 3000 to 6000 L, depending on model.

Prioritising quality spray application, the new boom recirculation feature ensures liquid solution is kept in suspension, so the boom is always primed and ready to spray. The air purge system enables improved cleanout, to save time and reduce waste.

Factory-installed John Deere AutoTrac™ keeps the sprayer in the row for precise product placement, while John Deere ExactApply™ technology means operators can more accurately control droplet size, spray pressure and individual nozzles. Optional BoomTrac™ Pro 2 further hones spraying accuracy by maintaining the boom's position.

John Deere 400 and 600 Series Sprayers have the fuel-saving CommandDrive™ powertrain that reduces engine revolutions to save fuel while maintaining a consistent speed and spray pattern.

To ensure farmers can leverage the power of their data, the sprayers come standard with a JDLink™ connection, integrated StarFire™ GPS receiver, Generation 4 CommandCenter™ display and free access to the John Deere Operations Center, allowing customers to easily view and monitor their equipment and data.

See & Spray Select for 400 and 600 Series Sprayers

John Deere has grown the efficiency of its new 400 and 600 Series Sprayers by offering See & Spray Select, an integrated camera technology, that minimises input costs by treating weeds only when they are detected.

Developed in partnership with University of Southern Queensland, See & Spray is built on the John Deere ExactApply foundation. It is both an effective targeted spray solution and highly productive broadcast machine, providing farmers two time-saving sprayers in one. Using See & Spray, farmers can apply more expensive and complex tank mixes more efficiently, and easily switch from targeted to broadcast spraying without leaving the cab. A 400 or 600 Series Sprayer factory equipped with See & Spray is the only Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) solution which delivers this capability.

See & Spray rapidly detects only green plants within fallow ground and triggers an application to those plants. In doing so, it achieves a similar hit rate to traditional broadcast spraying2 but uses an average 77% less herbicide1. Research has shown that weeds sprayed with complex tank mixes with more than two modes are 83 times less likely to develop resistance.

See & Spray Select can be equipped on John Deere 400 and 600 Series Sprayers, each model of which comes from the factory with fully integrated precision agriculture technology to support farmers in making informed agronomic and equipment decisions.

Hagie Self-Propelled Sprayers

An all-new lineup of three Hagie Self-Propelled Sprayers (STS12, STS16 and STS20) are available with tanks sizes ranging from 4500 to a huge 7500 L capacity. The sprayers are powered by John Deere PowerTech™ 9.0 L Engines that generate 300 to 400 horsepower.

All the features Hagie customers value, such as high clearance, four-wheel steer and front boom, have been insightfully combined with John Deere's precise, integrated, and easy-to-use technologies.

Hagie Sprayers have a new cab which comes standard with a JDLink connection, integrated StarFire GPS receiver, Generation 4 CommandCenter display, AutoTrac guidance and free access to John Deere Operations Center enabling customers to transition seamlessly between Hagie and John Deere equipment on-farm.

Updated John Deere 9 Series Tractors

The model year 2022 9 Series lineup includes wheel 9R, two-track 9RT and four-track 9RX Tractors that bring more power, more technology and a larger, more comfortable cab.

John Deere is the only manufacturer to offer all three tractor configurations, with each designed to help ensure farmers cover more ground in less time.

Low-end torque and lugging ability comes from the all-new John Deere PowerTech 13.6 L diesel engine which drives models with 390 to 590 horsepower. The larger 9R 640 and 9RX 640 are powered by a Cummins 15 L engine.

To accommodate the added horsepower and ballast of the articulated 9 Series Tractors, several undercarriage, axle, and front-frame components have been strengthened and improved. This has increased the weight of the tractor and the maximum available ballast from 27,200 to 30,300 kg to put the enhanced power of the new lineup to the ground.

New 9 Series Tractors are smart and come equipped from the factory with JDLink connectivity, plus an integrated StarFire GPS receiver, Generation 4 Command Center display, AutoTrac guidance and free access to the John Deere Operations Center, to help farmers harness the value of precision agriculture and data to transform their operations.

Updated John Deere 8 Series Tractors

The 8 Series range, including the wheel 8R, two-track 8RT and four-track 8RX, have received an update that builds on a strong foundation of existing technology by providing new specialised options.

John Deere offers a number of models across the 8R, 8RT and 8RX lineup ranging from 230 to 410 horsepower and with multiple transmission options, to meet the unique needs of diverse farming enterprises. Each also comes with industry-leading comfort, visibility and technology options.

The Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS) saves time when adjusting the pressure required for field and transport operations by changing tyre pressure when "road" or "field" settings are engaged on 8R tractors equipped with Independent-Link Suspension (ILS™). For road transport, increased pressure gives greater fuel efficiency, reduced tyre wear and improved ride and handling, while in the field lower pressure and a larger footprint provides more lug engagement to reduce slip and ground pressure.

The new integrated 3750 L capacity ExactRate Tractor Tanks on the 8RX Tractors provide additional liquid capacity for tasks such as liquid fertiliser application while seeding and planting, enabling more time in the field and greater productivity by reducing the number of fills required.

All 8 Series Tractors come standard with JDLink connectivity, plus an integrated StarFire GPS receiver, Generation 4 CommandCenter display, AutoTrac guidance, and free access to John Deere Operations Center.

Updated air seeding tools

Key updates for the model year 2022 lineup of air seeding tools will see proven John Deere technology rolled out across more models. New features include the addition of the John Deere RelativeFlow Blockage detection system to help farmers ensure product is being accurately and evenly distributed during seeding.

TruSet In-Cab Downforce adjustment allows settings to be changed from the Generation 4 Display and eliminates the need for the operator to make manual downforce adjustments. It improves seed-to-soil contact, plant emergence and maturity, and helps operators to maximise uptime in the field compared to manually adjusting downforce at the tool.

John Deere will offer an enhancement to its popular ProSeries™ Openers with the addition of new Quick-Change Blades which can reduce the time it takes to change opener blades by up to 45%.
