ENHANCED harvest productivity is the chief priority for mixed-enterprise Coleambally grower, Tim Wiseman, and is the reason he made the trip south to the Hutcheon & Pearce X Series Demo Day at Deniliquin to see an X9 1000 in action.
Watching the X9 1000's 50-foot header chomp through twelve hectares of wheat per hour, with minimal fuel consumption, has placed the X Series firmly on a list of equipment Mr Wiseman is eager to secure for his operation, which grows corn, wheat, barley and cotton across 1200 ha.
"We are getting smaller and smaller windows of opportunity to get the crop off," Mr Wiseman said.
"That's why tonnage per hour is a big priority for us."
Another feature which caught Mr Wiseman's eye was the X Series' large diameter fan with a variable pitch blade that comes within the new engine cooling package.
"The fan will keep that area perfectly clean and improve the overall performance of the machine as the engine will be kept cool. It's features like this which are very useful when you are harvesting in tough conditions."
