John Deere and Cotton Australia Recognise Cotton Leaders and Innovators
Crestmead, Queensland (17 April, 2026) — John Deere is honouring those who have made an important and lasting contribution to the Australian cotton industry, through the Cotton Australia Industry Awards sponsorship.
The John Deere Service to Industry Award, which will be presented at the Australian Cotton Conference on the Gold Coast on 6 August, will acknowledge people who've contributed to industry through leadership, advocacy, innovation, research, education or long-term support for growers and the broader industry.
John Deere Australia and New Zealand Production and Precision Ag Marketing Manager, Royce Bell, is excited to see the variety of talented individuals who will be identified through the award nominations.
"I know from personal experience growing up within the cotton farming community on the Darling Downs, and watching the industry innovate and evolve in my role with John Deere, that the cotton industry is truly one of rural Australia's great success stories," Mr Bell said.
"The Australian cotton industry employs more than 7,000 people, contributes around $3 billion to the Australian economy, and is highly innovative in crop production, improvements in water-use efficiency and contributing to regional communities.
"At the centre of these achievements are people who have dedicated their careers and lives to leading the continual improvement and growth of this great industry, and John Deere is delighted to be part of seeking out and recognising these individuals.
"The Australian cotton industry is a global leader in food and fibre production, and John Deere is a global leader in the delivery of equipment and technology that supports the crop production in our unique operating conditions. We are proud to continue that great partnership by celebrating with Cotton Australia those wonderful individuals who are the heart of the industry."
