John Deere Demo Day a Life Changer for North Queensland Family
Crestmead, Queensland (1 September, 2025) — Keely Nielsen's last-minute decision to drop into the John Deere Demo Day in Ingham last year, and a simple scan of a QR code, transformed her grandparents' lives by making managing their acreage much simpler.
Drawn as the lucky prize winner from across Australia and New Zealand, Keely said she couldn't believe it when she found out she had won a John Deere Z315E Residential ZTrak™ Zero‑Turn Mower, 10P Poly Cart and a home maintenance kit, which she kindly regifted to her retired cane farmer grandparents, Lyle and Margaret Nielsen.
"At first I thought I had won a shirt as a runner up prize, then thought I was being pranked, before feeling excited to be a winner of something so important," she said.
"Before he retired, my Pa was a hard-working cane farmer in the Burdekin and now lives on an acre of land and still keeps himself busy.
"He asked me no less than 100 times if I was sure about giving the prize to him and said he didn't need it because he already had a lawnmower, even though we both knew it wasn't reliable.
"He now loves how fast he can mow the lawn with the ZTrak, and how much he can do with the trailer to help Nan with her gardening."

Demo Day returns this Saturday
As participating John Deere dealerships across the country prepare for another Demo Day this Saturday, 6 September, John Deere Small Ag and Turf Marketing Manager, Erin Wagstaff, said one of the focuses of the event was the connection with people and community.
"Seeing Keely give her prize to her grandparents last year was so lovely and a reminder that these events are about people and the local communities our dealerships operate in," Ms Wagstaff said.
"Demo Day is designed to be a fun day out with family, featuring events and activities and the opportunity to meet with your local dealerships and learn how to manage acreage or lifestyle blocks easier with John Deere equipment."
Participating dealerships across Australia will showcase the extensive range of John Deere ride-on mowers, the new Z370R Electric ZTrak mower and compact utility tractors that make lawn maintenance and tackling large projects easy.
The gift of giving
With Demo Day falling on the eve of Father's Day, Ms Wagstaff said it was the perfect opportunity to pick up something special for dad, mum, or even tick off an early Christmas present.
"Many dealerships will have branded merchandise for sale, so it's a great opportunity to grab some last-minute Fathers' Day gifts," she said.
"And if you attend a Demo Day, don't forget to scan the QR code to go into our prize draw.

Keely said she would definitely be making her way to the John Deere dealership this Saturday.
