Engine Options
John Deere PowerTech™ 9.0 L Engine
Get uncompromised performance in your 8 Series Tractors with up to 306 engine kilowatts, and even higher through Intelligent Power Management. That’s the most kilowatts we’ve put in a fixed-frame row-crop tractor. And it’s all possible thanks to an incredibly smart Engine Control Unit, which senses engine speed and load changes at a rate of 100 times per second.
Intelligent Power Management
The 8R/8RT/8RX Tractors combine world-class efficiency with increased kilowatts to push productivity to higher levels than ever before. Intelligent Power Management (IPM) provides a kilowatt increase during PTO and transport applications of up to 26 kilowatts for full PTO power and speed.
Emissions control
Our seamlessly integrated Emissions Control system is designed to use less diesel fuel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) for total fluid economy. The aftertreatment system is streamlined into a smaller package than on previous models, improving visibility from the cab and uses less DEF. To meet your farm’s rigorous demands, we continue to use proven emissions strategy with diesel oxidation catalyst, a diesel particulate filter, and a selective catalytic reduction system to meet emissions standards while minimising fuel consumption and operational challenges.
Fan-Drive Cooling System
Keep your tractor cool on the hottest days in the field. The viscous fan system increases service intervals and reduces costly downtime.
Transmission Options
John Deere is the only manufacturer to offer you three choices in transmissions to give you the flexibility to choose one to fit your needs.
New Electric Variable Transmission (EVT)
New Electric Variable Transmission (EVT) option on 8R 410, 8RT 410, and 8RX 410 models provides infinite speed control from 0.08 to 50 km/h (0.05 to 31 mph) and faster acceleration thanks to its stepless transmission design. Electric motors replace hydrostatic motors for improved performance and control, reliability, and efficiency. Operators will notice it’s also quieter than other transmissions. Available with optional CommandPRO™ Control.
CommandPRO™ Control with IVT™, EVT
Experience seamless control of your tractor and implements all in the palm of your hand. Move from parked to top speeds with a simple push of a button. Eleven customisable buttons let you match functions to the job with options to configure various set speeds to keep you in command. It’s easy to learn, easy to use and easy to customise.
16-Speed PowerShift transmission
It’s simple, reliable, cost-effective, field-proven and fully automatic. The 16-speed PowerShift transmission delivers smooth on-the-go power delivery for fuel-saving performance. No need to stop the tractor or press in the clutch gears; the transmission can simply automatic shuttle-shift between forward and reverse.
Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT™)
The IVT delivers the best in performance and operation. With a single lever, you can smoothly shift up from 0 to 40 or 50 km/h (26 or 31 mph) – and any speed in between, including creeper speeds as low as 50 m (164 feet) per hour. The transmission and engine work together to keep the tractor at desired speed, responding to changing load conditions. And with the CommandPRO™ Control, eleven customisable buttons let you match functions to the job for seamless control of your tractor and implements.
e23™ PowerShift transmission
The e23™ PowerShift option with Efficiency Manager™ pairs the benefits of a mechanical transmission with the ease of an infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT). With 23 forward gears evenly spaced 15 percent apart to fit your different operating conditions and implements, shifting is silky smooth. Plus, you can maintain peak ground speed at reduced engine rpms to save fuel. The e23 also provides 11 reverse choices with a 30 percent speed change between gears.
The AutoClutch feature is integrated. When you want to stop, just press the brake pedal. AutoClutch handles the rest automatically.
Designed to fit your row crop
The 8RX tractor is ideal for row crop use. Choose from four tread settings -- 193, 203, 223.5, 305 cm (76, 80, 88, 120 in.) – on four track widths 45.7, 61, 63.5 and 76.2 cm (18, 24, 25 and 30 in.). In all, you have 12 track combinations to fit your crop and field conditions.
