John Deere Expands 2027 Tillage Portfolio With New Sizes and Autonomy-Ready Tools

New sizes, autonomy-ready tools and portfolio updates give farmers more options to manage residue, reduce passes and prepare fields efficiently.

Crestmead, Queensland (25 February, 2026) — John Deere Australia and New Zealand has released a series of model year 2027 (MY27) tillage updates, expanding its High-Speed Disk (HSD) portfolio and offering customers more flexibility across a range of field conditions and operation sizes.

The updates include the introduction of 2-section HSD models with additional new widths and expanded autonomy-ready options across rippers and field cultivators.

The new offerings will help farmers improve productivity, manage residue and achieve strategic tillage outcomes.

''The expanded John Deere tillage portfolio reflects what we continue to hear from farmers about the need for tools that fit their operation, hectares and timeline,'' John Deere Production & Precision Ag Marketing Manager, Royce Bell, said.

''From new sizes to expanded autonomy-ready options, these updates build on the proven durability of John Deere tillage implements and provide customers with strategic solutions for the future.''

High-Speed Disk Portfolio Expands With New 2-Section Models

John Deere is building on its HSD lineup launched in early 2025 by delivering new 2-section models available in 4.57-, 5.79-, 6.7- and 6.62-metre (15-, 19-, 22- and 25-foot width). The new sizes guarantee customers the same excellent residue management and field finish, while offering more flexibility for smaller acreages, transport limitations and varying tractor sizes.

The 2-section HSDs come autonomy-ready from the factory and feature the same durable frame design and improved residue flow as larger models to help operators cover more hectares per day without sacrificing performance.

''We listened to customers who said they needed the benefits and performance of the high-speed disk in a more compact option,'' Mr Bell said. ''The new 2-section options in smaller widths deliver that flexibility while maintaining the field finish that defines the HSD lineup.''

Expanded Autonomy-Ready Tillage Options

As farmers search for ways to continually improve productivity and efficiency, John Deere continues to expand autonomy-ready tillage solutions to help them offset the skilled labour shortage.

Autonomy-ready capability is now available on the 2730 combination ripper and HSD, and the 2430 Chisel ploughs, giving customers more options to integrate autonomous tillage into their operations as it becomes available.

Autonomy-ready tillage tools are designed to seamlessly integrate with autonomous-ready tractors, preparing customers to adapt to future technology advances while still delivering John Deere's consistently reliable agronomic performance.

Autonomy Ready minimises the additional equipment needed to enable full autonomy adoption in the future. Autonomous-ready updates to tillage equipment include LED work lights, a Universal StarFire™ implement receiver mast and associated harnessing.

Future capabilities covered by Autonomy Prep option

"The components required to assist in autonomous tillage include electrical wiring to enable the StarFire™ receiver — which is sold separately — to be connected, along with tillage lighting to ensure that monitoring, location and control of the operation can be managed automatically and remotely," Mr Bell explained.

"With autonomous farming solutions on the horizon, many customers are wondering what they can do to ensure the tractors they are purchasing today will be ready to operate autonomously.

"The factory available, Autonomy Prep option ensures that many of the known requirements are in place for future tractor capabilities, minimising the additional equipment needed to enable full future adoption."
